You wouldn’t believe it if you met me now, but once upon a time I was SO disorganised!

 

I had loads of ideas.  Lots of started projects.  A ‘To Do’ list as tall as me (and growing).  An in-tray that groaned with paper.  Emails that came in faster than I could deal with.  Piles of unopened letters in the porch. Goodness knows where my passport was, not to mention my keys…

 

Life was pretty chaotic then.

 

I felt out of control, tired, stressed and miserable.I didn’t sleep well; smoked heavily; drank 8 cups of black coffee a day; had red, itchy patches on my face and hands; was always in a rush and just didn’t know what to do first.

 

Moreover, I assumed that the problem was me, as everyone else seemed to be doing fine.

Enough was enough

 

One day I reached rock bottom.  I felt so overwhelmed, I became immobilised with indecision.  I realised that I could not go on this way, and that moment decided that “enough was enough!” I knew that I needed to do something differently, if I was to live the successful life that I desired.

 

So instead of quitting my job and running away, I decided to find out how I could channel my stress in a more positive direction so that I could get more things done in less time and manage to achieve my goals.

 

So began a decade of seminars, reading and learning about personal health and wellbeing, resilience and confidence.

 

This journey has brought me in direct contact with a long list of superb leaders who have taught me the techniques that have enabled them to cope with the challenges and pressures that leadership brings.

 

A decade in the making

 

During the past decade, whilst holding down a senior director job in a large multinational company and bringing up a young family, I qualified as both a lifecoach and a health coach, developed Raw Energy, and have written three books on aspects of health and goal setting.

‘Success without Stress’ is the culmination of the past 10 years’ work, and has taken me nearly 2 years to bring out, as I wasn’t ready to share my thoughts until now.
