Ginger Tea

Ginger is a powerful de-stresser which calms the body, helps digestion, helping upset tummies and headaches, and it also reduces inflammation – a great all-rounder.

Ginger tea is really easy to make and I like to make it every morning, as part of my morning ritual. Others prefer to drink it before they go to bed, to calm them before they drift off to sleep.

It’s best to make it with fresh ginger, which is available in most supermarkets and specialty food stores.

You will need:

4-6 thin slice of raw ginger

1.5 – 2 cups of water

Juice from half a lemon or lime

Honey to taste

Prep time: 10 mins

Yield 1-2 cups

To make:

First, peel the ginger and cut it into thin slices.

Put in a saucepan and cover with the water.

Bring to the boil, then simmer for at least 10 minutes. (You can cook up to 20 mins for a stronger flavour).

Remove from heat and add lemon or lime juice and honey to taste.

Drink and enjoy!

(You may need to experiment with different quantites of ingredients, to get the perfect tea for you).
