Success Without Stress

We can either watch life from the sidelines, or actively participate… Either we let self-doubt and feelings of inadequacy prevent us from realizing our potential, or embrace the fact that when we turn our attention away from ourselves, our potential is limitless – Christopher Reeve

Perhaps you can today take inspiration from Christopher Reeve and this quote. He will always been known as the film star who played the first Superman. He will also be known for not watching life from the sidelines, after an accident left him wheelchair bound and unable to move from the neck down; following which he used the media attention to bring awareness to spinal cord injuries, and worked in film production – inspite of his condition. So his insightfulness is probably something to pay attention to, wouldn’t you think?

If you have read or attended any personal development teachings, you will learn that doing things for others and actively participating in life is a human need which fulfills you to the core. But many of us focus on ourselves, become withdrawn and never look outwards, allowing self doubt to overwhelm.

Where can you actively participate today? You don’t have to be Superman, but you can be SuperDad, SuperDaughter, SuperBoss or SuperFriend. You may even want to be a SuperVolunteer. And the best bit? You will probably get more out of it than the people you are helping. It will lower your stress levels, help you forget your worries, and make you more resilient.
