14. Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect

Success Without Stress

Being happy doesn’t mean everything is perfect. It means that you’ve decided to look beyond the imperfections – Unknown

‘Unknown’ (perhaps we will name it the Universe) has a point. Is there such thing as perfection? Would it really make you happy? Could you thrive in a world where nothing ever goes wrong and you feel bliss all of the time? Perhaps. But that’s probably not going to happen to you in this life. Sorry about that.

So what can you do between that point and your current state of mind? You can be stressed about all of the things that don’t happen, and spent your time wishing you had more of (whatever it is). You can use the excuse that ‘when things are better, then I will do xyz’ and then it will be OK and I will be happy. Whoafff – that’s exhausting, isn’t it?

Or you can do something else. What about feeling a sense of appreciation and gratitude for what you do have, and for what you have achieved, and for doing (whatever it is) in the first place. What if you move from a state of inertia because you want it to be perfect, towards a more resilient way of being. Simply showing up and doing your thing is good enough – and the Universe knows this and will help guide you.
